Acrylic paintings are painted on Gallery Wrapped canvases. This type of medium does not require a picture frame. They can be framed if you choose to do so, but I paint the sides of the canvas to finish off the painting.

Pastel paintings do require a picture frame. Pastel paintings are like painting with
"chalk" and therefore, are
more fragile than acrylic paintings.

Charcoal paintings also need to be framed. The cost of a charcoal painting in black and white, is less than a pastel painting in color.
